Mary and Max shares The Grand Crystal Best Feature Award at Annecy!

Breaking news - Mary and Max has just won The Grand Crystal Best Feature award at the prestigeous Annecy Animation Festival. The Award is jointly shared with Coraline (d: Henry Sellick - Laika Entertainment/Universal Pictures).

Annecy is the ‘Cannes of Animation’ and is where Harvie Krumpet (the Oscar winning short film also written and directed by Adam Elliot and produced by Melanie Coombs) began its journey winning three Annecy awards back in 2003.

This award comes hot on the heels of Mary and Max’s success at Stuttgart Animation Festival (Grand Jury Prize) and Zagreb Film Festival …

11th May 2009: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 

MARY AND MAX has won the ANIMOVIE feature film award at Stuttgart!

Overnight MARY AND MAX has won the ANIMOVIE feature film award at the prestigious 16th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film.

Other films in competition included mainstream US fair like Coraline and Igor as well as the indie favourites such as the new film from Animation Legend, Bill Plympton film Idiots & Angels.

Edinburgh accepts three Aussie films

Three Australian features have been accepted into the Edinburgh International Film Festival in June.

Jonathan Auf Der Heide’s feature debut Van Diemen’s Land will have its international premiere at the festival, fresh off its world premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival in February (not to mention screenings of the truncated version at the Melbourne International Film Festival).
